The Park on Ward & Ulana at Ward Village— 2 New Ward Village Condos
Ward Village in Kakaako awaits approval of their 8th and 9th High Rise
As you may or may not know, the Howard Hughes Corporation is currently developing a 60-acre master planned community in the heart of Kakaako which is dubbed Ward Village (located in between Ala Moana Shopping Center and Downtown Honolulu). They have currently completed 4 high rise towers (Waiea, Anaha, Aeo, and Ke Kilohana), with another expected to be completed in 2021 (Aalii), and two more that are under construction and expected to be completed in 2022 (Koula and Victoria Place).
At this past week’s HCDA (Hawaii Community Development Authority) meeting, the Howard Hughes Corporation submitted their request to approve two newly planned condos — The Park on Ward (Ward Village’s 8th condo) and Ulana (Ward Village’s 9th condo).
The Park on Ward is hoping to be introduced in the beginning half of 2021 and will feature 546 Market Priced units — size and prices have not yet been released but it is expected to be on the same tier level of Anaha and Koula.
Ulana at Ward Village will be a 697 unit building and the entire building is slated to go towards reserved housing (meant for local Hawaii residents that meet certain criteria approved by the HCDA).
It is important to note that every new condo needs to set aside at least 20% of the building towards affordable or reserved housing. Currently, Ward Village has far exceeded the minimum requirement and plans to build more than what is required.
