The Launiu Ward Village
Howard Hughes’ Eleventh Tower in Kakaako, Ward Village, Hawaii
The Launiu Ward Village is the newest luxury condominium to be introduced by the Howard Hughes Corporation to Ward Village — a 60-acre master planned community in the heart of Kakaako in between Ala Moana and Downtown Honolulu. Launiu will have 486 units and will be comprised of studios, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom units.
The building will be located at 928 Ala Moana Blvd on the West corner of Ward Avenue and along Ala Moana Blvd. The building will be a front-row building and will feature unobstructed ocean views from the two front units (one 2-bedroom unit on the West/Ocean side of the building and one 3-bedroom unit on the East/Ocean side of the building).
The newest Ward Village building to have lanais
When it comes to lanais, it is rare to find them in Ward Village. Most of their previous towers have foregone having a lanai to increase and maximize the interior square footage of the units. We haven’t seen a building in Ward Village to have lanais since Koula; which was Ward Village’s 6th tower. Launiu however will only have lanais on the 2 and 3-bedroom units on the East/Diamond Head side of the building. These lanais will help maximize view planes allowing owners to have more view planes of the ocean and the mountains. The only downside is that all studios and 1-bedrooms will not have any lanais.
Majority of the studios will be in the podium located underneath the amenity deck. There will be 5 floors of podium units fronting Ward Avenue. There will also be 5 guest suites within the podium of Launiu
The 7th floor amenity deck at Launiu will feature a wide variety of amenities. Below is the proposed amenity deck that will feature your typical amenities found in any Ward Village luxury condo. One unique amenity they will be introducing is a hydrotherapy spa.
