Hawaii’s newest high-rise building coming to Mo’ili’ili

When it comes to new high-rise construction, many local residents see buildings popping up in the Ala Moana and Kakaako neighborhoods. In the last half decade, we rarely saw any new high-rises up in older residential neighborhoods; that is up until now.

Kuilei Place will be Mo’ili’ili’s newest high-rise condominium developed by the Kobayashi Group and it is estimated to start construction later this year (2023) and finish construction in late 2026.

The building will feature 1005 units and will dedicate 603 units towards HHFDC affordable housing, and the remaining 402 units will be sold as market priced units. Affordable 1 to 3 bedroom units will range from $371,000 to $813,300 and Market 1 to 3 bedroom units will range from $685,000 to $1,250,000. For specific price ranges please click here.

All units at Kuilei Place will feature Bosch appliances, floor to ceiling windows, Quartz countertops, luxury vinyl flooring, and porcelain tile showers. There will be two main color schemes to choose from. Owners will not have the option to mix and match.

The building will have a mid-rise tower from floors 2–12 and the high rise tower from 13–43. It is important to note that all mid-rise units will be affordable housing and the tower will have a mix of affordable and market units. All market units will face Diamond Head.

The building will have a ton of amenities. Most will be on the ground floor of the building which features gyms, playgrounds, parks, swimming pool, dog park, cabanas, bbq pavilions, a quarter mile jogging path with outdoor workout equipment, bulk laundry area, EV stations, and more. Then there will also be a few top floor amenities on the 43rd floor. Here you will have two private dining/party rooms as well as a karaoke room.

Views will be amazing, especially if you are facing Diamond Head. The diamond head facing units will also have nice views of the golf course and once you pass floor 25 you will get beautiful ocean views. Enjoy this video showcasing the view planes from Kuilei Place.

The building will start owner occupant sales for the market units. Those who are interested need to submit an application by 3/5/23. A backup list will be created after 3/5 and will take backup reservations until 4/4/23. After that, any remaining units will then be sold as market unrestricted units (meaning someone may purchase it to use as a rental or 2nd home).
