Diamond Head Beach

The spot where locals go to catch some waves

When most people think of Diamond Head they think of the famous/most iconic hike on the Island of Oahu. But what many tourist fail to notice is a beautiful beach located at the base of the former volcano.

Diamond Head Beach stretches quite far around the perimeter of the volcano and is accessible from the beach/cliff/park up top and there are various walkways down to the water. The sand glistens and is a bit more shiny than the sand you will find at Waikiki Beach. You won’t see too many sun-bathers here though as most locals can be spotted in the water as it is a popular surf spot for local residents. Below is a short aerial flyover showing the beach and waves.
