Hawaii’s Newest Luxury Condo

When it comes to Hawaii Real Estate, nothing quite compares to the front row ultra-luxury condos along Ala Moana Blvd. If you missed out on buildings like Kalae and Victoria Place, then you are in luck. Alia will be starting sales very soon (1st quarter of 2023) and it is honestly one of the most impressive condos I have seen in awhile.

Alia will be done by the Kobayashi Group, who is well known for Hokua, One Ala Moana, and Park Lane. The project will be located at 888 Ala Moana Blvd and will contain 411 luxury market units ranging from 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units. Prices will range from the low $900Ks to the upper $5 million range. The building will have a ground floor amenity deck and a 6th floor amenity deck. There will be a bowling ally, basketball court, movie theater, gym, multiple swimming pools, garden spaces, cabanas, and more! If you are familiar with Hawaii real estate, just think of this building as Hokua 2.0 but with Park Lane style amenities.

The interiors will feature beautiful floor to ceiling windows with sleek high-end Gaggenau appliances. The ceiling heights will start at 9 ft and go up to 9.5 ft which will be on par with Waiea and Park Lane. One important aspect is that all the Diamond Head/Ocean facing units will have a lanai. The lanais will alternate between even and odd floors which will help create shadow space and will reduce the temperature thanks to the overhanging space from the lanais. The building will also have a ton of sustainable/environmentally friendly components, but I can share that at another time if you are interested.

In my personal opinion, it makes a big difference when the developer is a local company versus a mainland corporation (which is usually a publicly traded company). The Kobayashi Group is an established company with many local ties. They also want to build buildings of quality for the Hawaii residents and want to continue to build projects in the future. Some developers try to squeeze as many units in a building to maximize profits. When developers do this, the units sometimes end up long and narrow which is a bit harder to live in. But if you look at the floor plans for Alia, they are thoughtfully designed and wide. This wide design allows for more flexibility and feels a bit larger.
